Upāya-dharma and Senāyoga: Expedient Ethics & Army Deployment
दशाधिपतय: कार्या: शताधिपतयस्तथा । ततः सहस्राधिपतिं कुर्याच्छूरमतन्द्रितम्
daśādhipatayaḥ kāryāḥ śatādhipatayas tathā | tataḥ sahasrādhipatiṁ kuryāc chūram atandritam ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਨੂੰ ਦਸ-ਦਸ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਇਕ ਬਣਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨੂੰ ਸੌ ਦਾ ਨਾਇਕ। ਫਿਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ੂਰ, ਚੌਕਸ ਅਤੇ ਆਲਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਵੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਪਤੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕਰੋ।
