पारम्पर्यागते द्वारे ये केचिदनुवर्तिन: । परिचर्यावतो द्वारे ये च केचन वर्गिण:

Transliteration

pāramparyāgate dvāre ye kecid anuvartinaḥ | paricaryāvato dvāre ye ca kecana vargiṇaḥ ||

Translation

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜੋ ਵੰਸ਼-ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਿਯਤ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਰਾਜਦੁਆਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ-ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਆਦਿ ਰਾਜਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਹਰਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਲ/ਯੂਥ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਪਤੀ ਹਨ—ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
