पाण्डुभ्य: प्रार्थ्मानो5पि पित्र्यमंशं न दत्तवान् | “विदुर, द्रोणाचार्य, कृपाचार्य, भीष्म तथा सूंजयोंके बारंबार प्रार्थना करनेपर भी इसने पाण्डवोंको उनका पैतृक भाग नहीं दिया
pāṇḍubhyaḥ prārthyamāno 'pi pitryam aṁśaṁ na dattavān |
ਸੰਜਯ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ: ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਰੋਂ ਵਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਤ੍ਰਕ, ਧਰਮਸੰਗਤ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਵਿਦੁਰ, ਦ੍ਰੋਣਾਚਾਰਯ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਚਾਰਯ, ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਜਯ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਅਰਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਯਯੋਗ ਵਾਰਸਾ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
