शल्यस्य सेनापत्याभ्युपगमः | Śalya’s Acceptance of Command
एकप्राणावुभौ कृष्णावन्योन्यमभिसंश्रितौ । पुरा यच्छुतमेवासीदद्य पश्यामि तत् प्रभो
ekaprāṇāv ubhau kṛṣṇāv anyonyam abhisaṁśritau | purā yac chrutam evāsīd adya paśyāmi tat prabho ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਸ਼੍ਰੀਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਇਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸਰੀਰ ਹਨ; ਪਰਸਪਰ ਇਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ, ਨੇੜੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਇਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਖੜੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਸੀ, ਅੱਜ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical power of steadfast mutual support: when righteous allies are ‘one in breath’—sharing purpose, refuge, and responsibility—what was once mere reputation becomes visible reality. It underscores that dharma is sustained not only by individual virtue but also by loyal interdependence.
Sañjaya, reporting events to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, remarks that he now directly witnesses an extraordinary bond between “the two Kṛṣṇas,” describing them as inseparable and mutually reliant—something he had previously only heard about.
