Vasiṣṭhāpavāha: Sarasvatī’s Diversion and Viśvāmitra’s Curse (वसिष्ठापवाहः)
बभूव दुर्मना राजंश्विन्तयामास च प्रभु: । मोक्षार्थमकरोद्ू यत्नं ब्राह्मणैः सहित: पुरा
vaiśampāyana uvāca | babhūva durmanā rājan śvintayāmāsa ca prabhuḥ | mokṣārtham akarod yatnaṃ brāhmaṇaiḥ sahitaḥ purā | krodhena mahatāviṣṭo dharmātmā vai pratāpavān |
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਿਆ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਧਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਆਵਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਭਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੀ।
