Saptasārasvata-tīrtha-prasaṅgaḥ | The Saptasārasvata Pilgrimage Account and the Maṅkaṇaka Narrative
अभिगच्छन्ति तत् तीर्थ पुण्यं ब्राह्मणसेवितम् । जनेश्वर! वहाँ उस ब्राह्मणसेवित पुण्यतीर्थमें गन्धरवॉसहित देवता भी प्रतिमास आया करते हैं,पुरुषसिंह! तीर्थसेवनके लोभसे वे ब्रह्मर्षिणण समन्तपंचक तीर्थतक सरस्वती नदीके तटपर ठहर गये ।।
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
abhigacchanti tat tīrthaṁ puṇyaṁ brāhmaṇasevitam |
janeśvara! tatra brāhmaṇasevite puṇyatīrthe gandharvaiḥ sahitā devatā api pratimāsaṁ āyānti, puruṣasiṁha! |
tīrthasevanalobhena te brahmarṣayaḥ samantapañcake tīrthe sarasvatīnadītīre nyavasan ||
yajvatāṁ tatra teṣāṁ tu munīnāṁ bhāvitātmanām |
svādhyāyenātimahatā babhūvuḥ pūritā diśaḥ ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਜਨੇਸ਼ਵਰ! ਉਹ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ ਉਸ ਪੁੰਨ ਤੀਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼ਸਿੰਹ! ਉਸ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ-ਪੂਜਿਤ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤੀਰਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਧਰਵਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਵੀ ਹਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੀਰਥ-ਸੇਵਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਰਿਸ਼ੀ ‘ਸਮੰਤਪੰਚਕ’ ਨਾਮਕ ਤੀਰਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਰਸਵਤੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਟਿਕ ਗਏ। ਉੱਥੇ ਯਜ್ಞਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਭਾਵਿਤ-ਆਤਮਾ ਮੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਤਿ ਮਹਾਨ ਸਵਾਧਿਆਇ ਦੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਨਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਗੂੰਜ ਉਠੀਆਂ।
