जनमेजय उवाच कस्मात्‌ सरस्वती ब्रद्यान्‌ निवृत्ता प्राडमुखी भवत्‌ । व्याख्यातमेतदिच्छामि सर्वमध्वर्युसत्तम

Transliteration

janamejaya uvāca kasmāt sarasvatī bradyān nivṛttā prāḍmukhī bhavat | vyākhyātam etad icchāmi sarvam adhvaryusattama ||

Translation

ਜਨਮੇਜਯ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ! ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਹਿੰਦੀ ਸਰਸਵਤੀ ਕਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਮੁਖ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਪਈ? ਹੇ ਅਧਵਰਯੂ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ! ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
