क्रुद्धेन द्रोणपुत्रेण संछन्ना: प्रापतन् भुवि । यक्षों तथा राक्षसोंसे भरे हुए एवं रथों
sañjaya uvāca | kruddhena droṇaputreṇa saṃchannāḥ prāpatan bhuvi | bhrātṝn anye pitṝn anye putrān anye vicukruśuḥ ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਦ੍ਰੋਣਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ। ਕੋਈ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਕੋਈ ਪਿਉਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ—ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸੱਜਣ-ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦੀ ਕਰੁਣ ਚੀਖ ਉੱਠ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
