Aśvatthāmā’s Stuti of Rudra and Śiva’s Empowerment (सौप्तिकपर्व, अध्याय ७)
नित्यानन्दप्रमुदिता वागीशा वीतमत्सरा: । प्राप्याष्टगुणमैश्वर्य ये न यास्यन्ति वै स्मयम्
nityānandapramuditā vāgīśā vītamatsarāḥ | prāpyāṣṭaguṇamaiśvaryaṃ ye na yāsyanti vai smayam ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਉਹ ਪਾਰਸ਼ਦ ਸਦਾ ਨਿੱਤ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ, ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਈਰਖਾ-ਦ੍ਵੈਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਸਨ। ਅਣਿਮਾ-ਮਹਿਮਾ ਆਦਿ ਅੱਠ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਐਸ਼ਵਰ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
