अर्जुनस्य दिग्विजयारम्भः — Arjuna Initiates the Northern Campaign and Secures Bhagadattta’s Tribute
तद् भीममुत्सार्यजनं युद्धमासीदुपप्लवे । बलिनो: संयुगे राजन् वृत्रवासवयोरिव,राजन्! उस समरभूमिमें जहाँ वृत्रासुर और इन्द्रकी भाँति उन दोनों बलवान वीरोंमें संघर्ष छिड़ा था, ऐसा भयंकर युद्ध हुआ कि दर्शकलोग दूर भाग खड़े हुए
tad bhīmam utsārya-janaṁ yuddham āsīd upaplave | balinoḥ saṁyuge rājan vṛtra-vāsavayor iva ||
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਤਦ ਭੈ ਨਾਲ ਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਲੋਕ ਦੂਰ ਹਟ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਪਲਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੁੱਧ ਛਿੜ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੋ ਬਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਐਸੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵ੍ਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਸਵ (ਇੰਦਰ) ਦਾ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇ।
