समेत्याहं सपुत्रेण संख्ये वृत्रेण वज्रीव नरेन््द्रमुख्य । योत्स्याम्यहं भारत सूतपुत्र- मस्मिन् संग्रामे यदि वै दृश्यतेडद्य
sametyāhaṁ saputreṇa saṅkhye vṛtreṇa vajrīv narendramukhya | yotsyāmy ahaṁ bhārata sūtaputram asmin saṅgrāme yadi vai dṛśyate ’dya ||
ਅਰਜੁਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਨਰੇਂਦਰ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ! ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੂਤਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਰਣ ਦਿਸ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਰੂਬਰੂ ਭਿੜ ਕੇ ਓਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਜ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ਇੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਵ੍ਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅੱਜ ਯੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਾ ਹਟ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
