कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

निमित्तं मन्यमानास्तु परिणाम्य महागजा: । जग्हुर्बिभिदुश्वैव चित्राण्याभरणानि च
nimittaṁ manyamānās tu pariṇāmya mahāgajāḥ | jaghur bibiduś caiva citrāṇy ābharaṇāni ca ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਸ਼ਕੁਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਰੁਖ ਕੀਤਾ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਅਜੀਬ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਵੀ ਝਪਟ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਤੋੜ-ਭੰਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਹੰਗਾਮੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਛਿੱਟੇ-ਵਿੱਖਰੇ ਭੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
