हते भीष्मे च द्रोणे च कर्णो जेष्यति पाण्डवान् | तामाशां हृदये कृत्वा समाश्च॒स्य च भारत
sañjaya uvāca | hate bhīṣme ca droṇe ca karṇo jeṣyati pāṇḍavān | tām āśāṃ hṛdaye kṛtvā samāśvasya ca bhārata ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—“ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਅਤੇ ਦ੍ਰੋਣ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਰਣ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਵੇਗਾ।” ਹੇ ਭਾਰਤ! ਇਸ ਆਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਾਂਤਵਨਾ ਮਿਲੀ।
