Shloka 14

द्रोणेन दुर्योधनस्य कवचबन्धनम् — Drona’s Mantra-Bound Armor for Duryodhana

एह्ोहि वसुके क्षिप्रं क्षरैभ्य: काड्क्षितं पय: । ततो दास्यामि भद्रं ते अन्नं यस्य यथेप्सितम्‌,“वसुधे! तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। आओ-आओ., इन प्रजाजनोंके लिये शीघ्र ही मनोवांछित दूधकी धारा बहाओ। तब मैं जिसका जैसा अभीष्ट अन्न है, उसे वैसा दे सकूँगा”

eho hi vasuke kṣipraṁ kṣarai bhyaḥ kāṅkṣitaṁ payaḥ | tato dāsyāmi bhadraṁ te annaṁ yasya yathepsitam ||

“ਹੇ ਵਸੁਧੇ! ਤੇਰਾ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਹੋਵੇ। ਆ—ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਜਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਨਚਾਹੀ ਦੁੱਧ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਵਹਾ ਦੇ। ਫਿਰ—ਤੇਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ—ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਇੱਛਿਤ ਅੰਨ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਦੇ ਸਕਾਂਗਾ।”

Educational Q&A

Resources and extraordinary capacities should be directed toward loka-saṅgraha—supporting the many. The blessing “bhadraṁ te” frames the act as dharmic: abundance is invoked and distributed for others’ well-being, not for ego or hoarding.
