The verse underscores a dharmic principle: properly performed sacrifice (yajña) and worship, especially in a sanctified place, are depicted as yielding siddhi—successful attainment—exemplified by Indra himself.
Sañjaya describes a holy site and notes that Indra once performed a sacrifice there and attained siddhi, using Indra’s precedent to emphasize the site’s sanctity and the efficacy of ritual action.
