Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
यदा दानरुचि: स्याद् वै तदा धर्मो न सीदति । अनवेक्ष्य सुतस्नेहं कलत्रस्नेहमेव च
yadā dānaruciḥ syād vai tadā dharmo na sīdati | anavekṣya sutasnehaṃ kalatrasnehameva ca ||
ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਨ ਦੀ ਰੁਚੀ ਜਾਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਧਰਮ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਸਨੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਸਨੇਹ ਵੱਲ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ—ਅਰਥਾਤ ਆਸਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਬੱਝ ਕੇ—ਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
