Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
धर्मज्ञ पितामह! यह सब मैं यथावत् रूपसे जानना चाहता हूँ। इसके लिये मेरे मनमें बड़ी उत्कण्ठा है ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | yo vrataṃ vai yathoddiṣṭaṃ tathā sampratipadyate | akhaṇḍaṃ samyag ārabhya tasya lokāḥ sanātanāḥ ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਹੈ ਓਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਤ (ਵ੍ਰਤ) ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਅਖੰਡ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਭਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ—ਉਹ ਸਨਾਤਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
