अथवा पौरुषेणेयं न शक््या रक्षितुं मया
athavā pauruṣeṇeyaṁ na śakyā rakṣituṁ mayā
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ; ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਐਸ਼ਵਰਯਵਾਨ, ਬਹੁ-ਰੂਪੀ ਪਾਕਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਇੰਦਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਯੋਗ-ਬਲ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
