Aṣṭāvakra’s Visit to Kubera: Hospitality, Temptation, and the Ethics of Restraint (अष्टावक्र-वैश्रवणोपाख्यानम्)
इति मत्वा हृदि मतं प्राह मां सुरसत्तम: । मयि सम्भावना यास्या: फलात्कृष्णो भविष्यति
iti matvā hṛdi mataṁ prāha māṁ surasattamaḥ | mayi sambhāvanā yāsyāḥ phalāt kṛṣṇo bhaviṣyati ||
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਇਸ ਇੱਛਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਦੇਵ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ (ਸ਼ਿਵ) ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ—“ਮੁਨੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ-ਆਕਾਂਛਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ‘ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ’ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।”
