Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)
प्रभवन् पृच्छते यो हि सम्मानयति वा पुन: । नूनं जनमदुष्टात्मा पण्डिताख्यां स गच्छति
prabhavan pṛcchate yo hi sammānayati vā punaḥ | nūnaṃ janam aduṣṭātmā paṇḍitākhyāṃ sa gacchati ||
ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਜਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਠਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ—ਉਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਹੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ; ਉਹ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਿਆਤੀ ਤੇ ਮਰਤਬਾ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
