Āloka-dāna (Dīpa-dāna), Sumanas–Dhūpa–Dīpa Phala: Manu–Suvarṇa and Śukra–Bali Exempla
द्विविधो हि स्मृतो गन्ध इष्टोडनिष्ट श्व पुष्पज: । इष्टगन्धानि देवानां पुष्पाणीति विभावय
dvividho hi smṛto gandha iṣṭo 'niṣṭaś ca puṣpajaḥ | iṣṭagandhāni devānāṁ puṣpāṇīti vibhāvaya ||
ਸ਼ੁਕ੍ਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਦੋ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮੰਨੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ: ਇਸ਼ਟ (ਪ੍ਰਿਯ) ਅਤੇ ਅਨਿਸ਼ਟ (ਅਪ੍ਰਿਯ)। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੋ—ਇਸ਼ਟ-ਗੰਧ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਫੁੱਲ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਿਯ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
