भोजनीयानि पेयानि भक्ष्याणि विविधानि च । लेह्यान्यमृतकल्पानि चोष्याणि च तथार्जुन
bhojanīyāni peyāni bhakṣyāṇi vividhāni ca | lehyāny amṛtakalpāni coṣyāṇi ca tathārjuna ||
ਗੰਧਰਵ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— ਇੱਥੇ ਖਾਣ ਯੋਗ ਭੋਜਨ, ਪੀਣ ਯੋਗ ਪੇਯ, ਅਤੇ ਚਬਾਣ ਯੋਗ ਅਨੇਕ ਭੱਖ ਹਨ; ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ-ਸਮਾਨ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੇਹ੍ਯ (ਚਟਣੀ ਆਦਿ) ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਚੂਸਣ ਯੋਗ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਵੀ—ਹੇ ਅਰਜੁਨ।
गन्धर्व उवाच
The verse highlights the cultural ethic of honoring a guest or esteemed person through generous offering—abundance presented with refinement—reflecting social dharma expressed as hospitality and proper reception.
A Gandharva addresses Arjuna and enumerates an array of refreshments—foods, drinks, chewables, lickables, and suckables—describing them as nectar-like, indicating a lavish offering or reception in the ongoing episode.
