Prayāga-māhātmya — The Greatness of Prayāga and the Discipline of Pilgrimage

गीतवादित्रनिर्घोषैः प्रसुप्तः प्रतिबुध्यते / यावन्न स्मरते जन्म तापत् स्वर्गे महीयते

gītavāditranirghoṣaiḥ prasuptaḥ pratibudhyate / yāvanna smarate janma tāpat svarge mahīyate

ਗੀਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਨਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ, ਤਦ ਤੱਕ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਮਾਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਪਰ ਯਾਦ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖ-ਤਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਸੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗ-ਸੁਖ ਘਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
