Parīkṣit’s Inquiry into Vṛtrāsura’s Bhakti and the Beginning of Citraketu’s Trial
कृतद्युतिरजानन्ती सपत्नीनामघं महत् । सुप्त एवेति सञ्चिन्त्य निरीक्ष्य व्यचरद्गृहे ॥ ४४ ॥
kṛtadyutir ajānantī sapatnīnām aghaṁ mahat supta eveti sañcintya nirīkṣya vyacarad gṛhe
ਸੌਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਅਣਜਾਣ ਕ੍ਰਿਤਦ੍ਯੁਤੀ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ‘ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ’; ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਰਹੀ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਸਕੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ।
