Sukta 5
या पूर्वं पतिं वित्त्वाथान्यं विन्दतेऽपरम्। पञ्चौदनं च तावजं ददातो न वि योषतः
yā́ pūrváṃ pátim viditvā́ athā́nyaṃ víndate ’páram | pañcáudanam ca táu ajám dadā́toḥ ná ví yóṣataḥ ||
She who, having known a former husband, thereafter findeth another, a later one—if those two bestow the fivefold rice and a goat, they part not asunder.
ਜੋ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜਾ—ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਤੀ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਹੈ—ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪੰਚੌਦਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਅਜ (ਬੱਕਰਾ) ਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ।
