Sukta 3
तदग्ने चक्षुः प्रति धेहि रेभे शफारुजो येन पश्यसि यातुधानान्। अथर्ववज्ज्योतिषा दैव्येन सत्यं धूर्वन्तमचितं न्योऽष
tád agne cákṣuḥ práti dhehi rebhé śaphā́rujo yéna páśyasi yātudhā́nān | atharvávaj jyótiṣā daívyena satyáṃ dhū́rvantam acitáṃ ny òṣa ||
Set thou, O Agni, that eye upon thee, O Singer—hoof-shattering—wherewith thou seest the Yātudhānas. With Atharvan-like, heavenly light, burn down the unseen assailant, the true [foe] that works harm.
ਹੇ ਅਗਨੀ, ਹੇ ਰੇਭ (ਸਤੁਤਿਕਾਰ), ਉਹ ਅੱਖ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਿਕਾ—ਖੁਰ-ਤੋੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ—ਜਿਸ ਅੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਯਾਤੁਧਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਅਥਰਵਣ ਵਰਗੀ ਦੈਵੀ ਜੋਤ ਨਾਲ, ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ—ਹਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਵੈਰੀ—ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਦਬਾ ਦੇ।
