यथा सोम ओषधीनामुत्तमो हविषां कृतः । तलाशा वृक्षाणामिवाहं भूयासमुत्तमः

IAST Transliteration

yáthā sóma óṣadhīnāṃ uttamó havíṣāṃ kṛtáḥ | talā́śā vṛkṣā́ṇām ivā́haṃ bhūyāsam uttamáḥ

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

As Soma is highest of herbs, made chief among oblations, so—like Talāśa among trees—may I become the highest.

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੋਮ ਔਸ਼ਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਖੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ—ਵ੍ਰਿੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਲਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਾਂਗ—ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੋਵਾਂ।
