Sukta 79
इन्द्र क्रतुं न आ भर पिता पुत्रेभ्यो यथा । शिक्षा णो अस्मिन् पुरुहूत यामनि जीवा ज्योतिरशीमहि
índra krátum na ā́ bhara pitā́ putrébhyo yáthā | śíkṣā no asmín puruhūta yā́mani jīvā́ jyótiḥ aśīmahi ||
Indra, bring hither unto us inspired resolve, as a father unto his sons. Instruct us, O Much-invoked, in this our course, that living we may attain the light.
ਹੇ ਇੰਦਰ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰਤੁ—ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਸੰਕਲਪ—ਇੱਥੇ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਦੇ। ਹੇ ਪੁਰੂਹੂਤ (ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਹਵਾਨਿਤ)! ਇਸ ਸਾਡੇ ਯਾਮਨਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜੀਊਂਦੇ ਜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਜੋਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੀਏ।
