Sukta 73
यो वाचा विवाचो मृध्रवाचः पुरू सहस्राशिवा जघान । तत्तदिदस्य पौंस्यं गृणीमसि पितेव यस्तविषीं वावृधे शवः
yó vācā́ vivā́co mṛdhrá-vācaḥ purū́ sahásrāśīvā́ jaghā́na | tát tád íd asyá paúṃsyaṃ gṛṇīmasi pitā́va yás taviṣī́ṃ vāvṛdhé śávaḥ
Who with speech smote down the contentious, the hostile-tongued—many, though thousand-weaponed: that, even that, his manly prowess we proclaim; like a father is he who hath increased impetuous force and strength.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਬੋਲ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਝਗੜਾਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਵੈਰੀ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ—ਬਹੁਤੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ—ਮਾਰ ਡਾਲਿਆ; ਉਹੀ, ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੌਂਸ੍ਯ (ਪੁਰਖੀ ਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮ) ਅਸੀਂ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਪਿਉ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ ਉਹ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤਵਿਸ਼ੀ (ਉਗ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾ) ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਵ (ਬਲ) ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
