Sukta 34
यो जात एव प्रथमो मनस्वान् देवो देवान् क्रतुना पर्यभूषत्। यस्य शुष्माद् रोदसी अभ्यसेतां नृम्णस्य मह्ना स जनास इन्द्रः
yó jātá evá prathamó mánasvān devó devā́n krátunā paryábhūṣat | yásya śúṣmād ródasī abhý asetāṃ nṛmṇásya máhnā sá janāsa índraḥ ||
He who, born even at the first, the wise-hearted God, by force of counsel outshone the Gods; from whose impetuous might the two Worlds drew back in awe—by the greatness of heroic power, he, O men, is Indra.
ਜੋ ਜਨਮਦੇ ਹੀ ਪਹਿਲਾ, ਮਨਸਵੀ ਦੇਵ, ਕ੍ਰਤੁ—ਸੰਕਲਪ-ਬਲ— ਨਾਲ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਚਮਕਿਆ; ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਸ਼ਮ—ਉਗ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਬਲ— ਤੋਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਲੋਕ (ਰੋਦਸੀ) ਡਰ ਕੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹਟ ਗਏ; ਨ੍ਰਮ੍ਣ—ਵੀਰ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀ— ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਨਾਲ, ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਉਹੀ ਇੰਦਰ ਹੈ।
