इमे त इन्द्र ते वयं पुरुष्टुत ये त्वारभ्य चरामसि प्रभूवसो । नहि त्वदन्यो गिर्वणो गिरः सधत् क्षोणीरिव प्रति नो हर्य तद् वचः
imé ta índra té vayáṃ puruṣṭutá yé tvā́rabhya cárāmasi prabhūvaso | náhi tvád anyó gírvāṇo gíraḥ sádhat kṣóṇīr iva práti no harya tád vácaḥ
These, Indra, are for thee—yea, we for thee, O Much-praised, who, laying hold on thee, move in thy service, O Lord of ample wealth. For none other than thee, O Singer’s-friend, can set our songs in sure success: as lands are firm, so do thou, in answer, take delight in this our word.
ਹੇ ਇੰਦਰ, ਇਹ ਸਤੁਤੀਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਹਨ; ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼ਟੁਤ (ਬਹੁਤਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਤੁਤ), ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਵਸੁ (ਅਪਾਰ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ)। ਹੇ ਗਿਰਵਣਃ (ਸਤੁਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਿਯ), ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਗਿਰਃ (ਗੀਤ/ਵਚਨ) ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਹਨ, ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਹੇ ਹਰ੍ਯ (ਹਰੀ-ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ), ਉੱਤਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਇਸ ਵਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰ।
