अनु प्रत्नस्यौकसः प्रियमेधास एषाम्। पूर्वामनु प्रयतिं वृक्तबर्हिषो हितप्रयस आशत

IAST Transliteration

ánu pratnásyaukásaḥ priyámédhāsa eṣām | pū́rvām ánu práyatiṃ vṛ́ktabarhiṣo hitáprayasa āśata

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Following the ancient seat, these dear-offerers—having strewn the grass and set the oblations—attained, in accordance with the former course, the appointed rite’s successful end.

ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਆਸਨ (ਔਕਸ) ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਿਯ-ਮੇਧਾਸ—ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਰ੍ਹਿਸ (ਯੱਗ-ਘਾਹ) ਵਿਛਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਿਸ਼ ਅਰਪਣ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ—ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਨਿਯਤ ਯਤੀ (ਵਿਧੀ-ਕ੍ਰਮ) ਦੇ ਸਫਲ ਅੰਤ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ।
