Sukta 50
यथा शाम्याकः प्रपतन्नपवान् नानुविद्यते । एवा रात्रि प्र पातय यो अस्मां अभ्यघायति
yáthā śāmyākáḥ prápatan apavā́n nā́nuvídyate | evā́ rātri prá pātaya yó asmā́n abhyaghā́yati ||
As a śāmyāka, hurled forth and wind-driven, is not found again—so, O Night, drive far away, cast down, him who deviseth evil against us.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ੍ਯਾਕ (śāmyāka) ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਹਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਡਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਮੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ—ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ, ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਭਜਾ ਦੇ, ਢਾਹ ਕੇ ਪਾ ਦੇ।
