Sukta 6
यत् पुरुषेण हविषा देवा यज्ञमतन्वत । वसन्तो अस्यासीदाज्यं ग्रीष्म इध्मः शरद्धविः
yát púruṣéṇa havíṣā devā́ yajñám atanvata | vasántó asyāsīd ā́jyaṃ grīṣmá idhmáḥ śarád dhavíḥ ||
When with the Puruṣa for oblation the Gods stretched forth the Sacrifice, Spring thereof was the ghee, Summer the fuel-stick, Autumn the offering.
ਜਦੋਂ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹਵਿਸ਼ (ਆਹੁਤੀ) ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਜ्ञ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਤਾਰਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਸੰਤ ਆਜ੍ਯ (ਘੀ) ਸੀ, ਗ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਮ ਇਧਮ (ਇੰਧਨ-ਲੱਕੜੀ) ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਦ ਹਵਿਸ਼ (ਆਹੁਤੀ) ਸੀ।
