पितृमेधः। ६४ भुरिक् पथ्यापङ्क्तिः, ६७ पथ्याबृहती, ६९, ७१ उपरिष्टाद् बृहती। इयं नारी पतिलोकं वृणाना नि पद्यत उप त्वा मर्त्य प्रेतम्। धर्मं पुराणमनुपालयन्ती तस्यै प्रजां द्रविणं चेह धेहि
iyáṃ nā́rī patilokáṃ vṛṇānā ní padyata úpa tvā martya prétaṃ | dhármaṃ purāṇám anupā́layantī tásyai prajā́ṃ dráviṇaṃ cehá dhéhī
This woman, choosing the husband’s sphere, let her step down near thee, O mortal, departed. Observing the ancient Law, do thou bestow on her offspring and wealth, even here.
ਇਹ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਦੀ ਹੋਈ, ਹੇ ਮਰਤ੍ਯ, ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਹੋਏ ਤੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੇ। ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਵਿਣ (ਧਨ) ਦੇਹ।
