IAST Transliteration

tásmā ūrdhvā́yā diśó antardeśā́n mahādevám iṣvā́sám anuṣṭhātā́ram akurvan

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Therefore, from the mid-region of the Upward Quarter, they appointed Mahādeva the Archer to be the Attendant-Guardian.

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਊਰਧ੍ਵ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰਦੇਸ਼ (ਮੱਧ ਖੇਤਰ) ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ—ਇਸ਼੍ਵਾਸ (ਧਨੁਧਾਰੀ) ਨੂੰ—ਅਨੁਸ਼ਠਾਤਾ-ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
