Sukta 4
अग्नीषोमाभ्यां कामाय मित्राय वरुणाय च । तेभ्यो याचन्ति ब्राह्मणास्तेष्वा वृश्चतेऽददत्
agnīṣómābhyā́ṁ kā́māya mitrā́ya váruṇāya ca | tébhyo yā́canti brāhmaṇā́s téṣv ā́ vṛ́ścate ’dádat ||
For Agni-Soma, for Desire, for Mitra and for Varuṇa—unto these the Brahmans make request: against them he cutteth (his bond), who giveth not.
ਅਗਨੀ–ਸੋਮ ਲਈ, ਕਾਮ (ਇੱਛਾ) ਲਈ, ਅਤੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਵਰੁਣ ਲਈ—ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਜੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
