अयज्ञियो हतवर्चा भवति नैनेन हविरत्तवे । छिनत्ति कृष्या गोर्धनाद् यं क्रव्यादनुवर्तते
ayajñíyo hatávarcā́ bhavati náinena havír áttave | chinátti kṛṣyā́ górdhanād yáṃ kravyā́d anuvártate
Unfit for sacrifice, with splendour smitten down, he becometh; by him the oblation is not for eating: the flesh-devourer, following whom, cutteth him off from tillage and from cattle-wealth.
ਅਯਜ੍ਞਿਯ—ਯਜ੍ਞ ਲਈ ਅਯੋਗ—ਉਹ ਤੇਜ ਤੋਂ ਹਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਵਿਸ ਭੋਜਨ ਲਈ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਕ੍ਰਵ੍ਯਾਦ (ਮਾਸ-ਭੱਖੀ/ਸ਼ਵ-ਭੱਖੀ) ਅਨੁਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਧਨ (ਗੋ-ਧਨ) ਤੋਂ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਵੱਖ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
