बहुषु प्रत्यासन्नं धार्मिकं भर्मसमर्थं कनिष्ठमभार्यं वा ॥ कZ_०३.४.३९ ॥

Transliteration

bahuṣu pratyāsannaṃ dhārmikaṃ bharmasamarthaṃ kaniṣṭham abhāryaṃ vā

Translation

ਜੇ ਕਈ (ਯੋਗ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ) ਹੋਣ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨੇੜਲਾ, ਧਰਮ-ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਘਰ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਰਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗ, (ਉਚਿਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਛੋਟਾ, ਅਤੇ/ਜਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ—ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਹੈ।
