Verse 7
Yagyavalkya
परस्त्रीपुरपराङ्मुखः त्रिदण्डं कमण्डलुं भुक्तपात्रं जलपवित्रं शिखां यज्ञोपवीतं बहिरन्तश्चेत्येतत्सर्वं भूः स्वाहेत्यप्सु परित्यज्यात्मानमन्विच्छेत् ॥७॥
पर-स्त्री-पुर-पराङ्मुखः । त्रि-दण्डम् । कमण्डलुम् । भुक्त-पात्रम् । जल-पवित्रम् । शिखाम् । यज्ञ-उपवीतम् । बहिः-अन्तः-च । इति । एतत् । सर्वम् । भूः । स्वाहा । इति । अप्सु । परित्यज्य । आत्मानम् । अन्विच्छेत् ॥७॥
parastrīpuraparāṅmukhaḥ tridaṇḍaṃ kamaṇḍaluṃ bhuktapātraṃ jalapavitraṃ śikhāṃ yajñopavītaṃ bahir antaś cety etat sarvaṃ bhūḥ svāhety apsu parityajyātmānam anvicchet ||7||
ପରସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ ନଗରଜୀବନ ପ୍ରତି ପରାଙ୍ମୁଖ ହୋଇ, ତ୍ରିଦଣ୍ଡ, କମଣ୍ଡଲୁ, ଭିକ୍ଷାପାତ୍ର, ଜଳପବିତ୍ର, ଶିଖା, ଯଜ୍ଞୋପବୀତ ଏବଂ ବାହ୍ୟ-ଆନ୍ତର ସମସ୍ତକୁ ‘ଭୂଃ ସ୍ୱାହା’ ଉଚ୍ଚାରି ଜଳରେ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି, ପରେ ଆତ୍ମାକୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ।
Turning away from other men’s wives and from towns, having (with him) the triple staff, the water-pot, the eating-bowl, the water-strainer, the topknot, and the sacred thread—(and) whatever is external and internal—having cast all this into water with the utterance “bhūḥ svāhā,” he should seek the Self.
