Sūta Gosvāmi (narrating Śiva’s worship-methods to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: rudram
It teaches that liberation-oriented Śaiva practice is not casual: daily mantra-japa, done in proper order and supported by niyama (discipline), leads the seeker toward Śiva-pada—communion with and attainment of the Lord.
In the Vidyeśvara context, Saguna Śiva worship is upheld through mantra and regulated ritual life; japa directed to Śiva (often alongside Linga-upāsanā) is presented as a direct means to approach Śiva’s grace and state.
Daily japa of Śiva-mantras in a prescribed sequence, together with recitation of Vedic mantras/sūktas, performed while observing niyamas—purity, restraint, and steady devotional discipline.
