Ambikā’s aṭṭahāsa symbolizes the sovereign power of the Divine that dissolves fear and destabilizes adharma; her command “be steady in battle” points to inner steadfastness (dhairya) as a spiritual discipline aligned with Pati’s grace in Shaiva thought.
Though the scene centers on Devī, it reflects Saguna worship: the Divine acts in form to protect dharma. In Shaiva understanding, Śiva-Śakti are inseparable—victory over inner and outer enemies comes through devotion to the manifest Lord (Liṅga) together with reverence to Śakti.
The practical takeaway is steadiness: during japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), maintain sthiratā (firm attention). A simple sādhana is daily japa with Tripuṇḍra/bhasma and a resolve to remain unwavering amid obstacles—mirroring “raṇe sthiro bhava.”
