This is a colophon verse marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it emphasizes disciplined reception of scripture—closing one teaching cycle before proceeding—supporting contemplative study of creation (sarga) as dependent on Pati (Śiva).
While it does not directly mention Liṅga worship, it situates the teaching within the Śiva Mahāpurāṇa’s Shaiva framework, where understanding creation ultimately leads the devotee to Saguna Śiva worship (Liṅga) and to the recognition of Śiva as the supreme cause.
As a chapter-ending colophon, it suggests paṭhana-śravaṇa (recitation and listening) with reverence; a fitting takeaway is to conclude study with a brief japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and a moment of silent contemplation.
