Suta Goswami (narrating a hymn of praise within the Kailasa Samhita context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Mantra: सिन्दूरवर्णाय सुमण्डलाय नमोऽस्तु वज्राभरणाय तुभ्यम् । पद्माभनेत्राय सुपंकजाय ब्रह्मेन्द्रनारायणकारणाय
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
The verse establishes Shiva as Pati—the supreme causal Lord—depicting His auspicious, luminous Saguna form while affirming His transcendence as the source of Brahma, Indra, and Narayana; devotion to this truth is presented as a direct purifier leading toward liberation.
Though phrased as praise of Shiva’s form (lotus eyes, radiant hue, divine ornaments), it aligns with Linga-worship by directing the mind to Shiva’s presence as the indwelling cause; the Linga is approached as the sacred focus through which the same supreme Lord is adored in Saguna contemplation.
Recite the verse as a stotra during Shiva-puja (especially on Mahashivratri), then perform dhyana by visualizing Shiva’s radiant halo and lotus-like eyes; accompany it with japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") for steady devotion.
