ଏହି ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ବସିଷ୍ଠ ହ୍ୟମ୍ନରେ ଉଷା (ପ୍ରଭାତ)ଙ୍କୁ ଋଷିମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଥମ ଜାଗରଣକାରିଣୀ ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକର ପ୍ରକାଶିକା ଭାବେ ଅଭିବାଦନ କରାଯାଇଛି; ସେ ଦୁଇ ଲୋକକୁ ଘୁରାଇ ଅସ୍ତିତ୍ୱକୁ ଦୃଶ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତି। ଉଷାଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବନକୁ ପୁନର୍ନବୀକରଣ କରିବା, ଆଲୋକରେ ଅନ୍ଧକାରକୁ ଢାକିଦେବା, ଏବଂ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିକୁ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ, ଅଗ୍ନି ଓ ଯଜ୍ଞ ଦିଗକୁ ନେଇଯିବା ପାଇଁ ସ୍ତୁତି କରାଯାଇଛି। ଶେଷ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନାରେ ଅନୁରୋଧ ଅଛି ଯେ ଉଷାମାନେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ଶୁଭତା ସହିତ ଉଦିତ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ—ବଳ, ପ୍ରକାଶ ଓ ବୀର ଜୀବନଶକ୍ତି ଆଣି—ଏବଂ ଉପାସକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୀର୍ଘସ୍ଥାୟୀ କୁଶଳରେ ରକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତୁ।

प्रति स्तोमेभिरुषसं वसिष्ठा गीर्भिर्विप्रासः प्रथमा अबुध्रन् । विवर्तयन्तीं रजसी समन्ते आविष्कृण्वतीं भुवनानि विश्वा ॥
ସ୍ତୋମମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବସିଷ୍ଠମାନେ—ବିପ୍ର ଋଷିମାନେ—ଉଷାକୁ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଜାଗ୍ରତ କରନ୍ତି। ସେ ଉଷା ସମସ୍ତ ଦିଗରେ ଦୁଇ ରଜସୀ (ଆକାଶୀୟ ଲୋକ)କୁ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତିତ କରି, ସମସ୍ତ ଭୁବନକୁ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରକଟ କରନ୍ତି।

एषा स्या नव्यमायुर्दधाना गूढ्वी तमो ज्योतिषोषा अबोधि । अग्र एति युवतिरह्रयाणा प्राचिकितत्सूर्यं यज्ञमग्निम् ॥
ଏହି ଉଷା ନବୀନ ଆୟୁକୁ ଧାରଣ କରି ଜାଗ୍ରତ ହୋଇଛି; ନିଜ ଜ୍ୟୋତିରେ ତମସକୁ ଗୁପ୍ତ କରି ସେ ପ୍ରବୋଧିତ ହେଲା। ଅଗ୍ରେ ଅକ୍ଳାନ୍ତ ଗତି କରୁଥିବା ଯୁବତୀ କନ୍ୟା ଆଗେ ବଢ଼େ; ଏବଂ ସେ ଆମକୁ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ, ଯଜ୍ଞ ଓ ଅଗ୍ନିକୁ—ଅଗ୍ରସ୍ଥ ଦିବ୍ୟ ସଙ୍କଳ୍ପକୁ—ପ୍ରାଗ୍ଦିଗରେ ପରିଚିତ କରାଏ।

अश्वावतीर्गोमतीर्न उषासो वीरवतीः सदमुच्छन्तु भद्राः । घृतं दुहाना विश्वतः प्रपीता यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
ଆମ ପାଇଁ ଉଷାମାନେ ସଦା ଉଦୟ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ—ମଙ୍ଗଳମୟ, ଅଶ୍ୱବତୀ, ଗୋମତୀ ଓ ବୀରବତୀ। ସମସ୍ତ ଦିଗରୁ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ, ଘୃତକୁ ଦୋହନ କରୁଥିବା, ସମୃଦ୍ଧିରେ ପ୍ରପୀତ—ଆପଣମାନେ ସ୍ୱସ୍ତିଭିଃ ସଦା ଆମକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତୁ।
