Kumbhakarna’s Counsel and War-Boast to Ravana
शृणुराजन्नवहितोममवाक्यमरिन्दम ।।6.63.30।।अलंराक्षसराजेन्द्र सन्तापमुपपद्यते ।रोषं च सम्परित्यज्यस्वस्थोभवितुमर्हसि ।।6.63.31।।
śṛṇu rājan avahito mama vākyam arindama || 6.63.30 ||
alaṃ rākṣasarājendra santāpam upapadyate | roṣaṃ ca samparityajya svastho bhavitum arhasi || 6.63.31 ||
ହେ ରାଜନ୍, ହେ ଅରିନ୍ଦମ, ସାବଧାନ ହୋଇ ମୋ କଥା ଶୁଣ। ହେ ରାକ୍ଷସରାଜେନ୍ଦ୍ର, ଏହି ସନ୍ତାପ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟାପ୍ତ; କ୍ରୋଧକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ସ୍ଥିର ହୋଇ ସ୍ୱସ୍ଥ ହେବା ତୋ ପାଇଁ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ।
"Listen to my words, Rakshasa king! You are a scourge of enemies. Put aside this sorrow. Give up the agony also. Be normal. You ought to be your normal self again."
A ruler’s dharma requires mastery over grief and anger; only a steady mind can choose satya (truth) and hita (beneficial action).
Kumbhakarṇa directly addresses Rāvaṇa, urging him to calm down and hear counsel.
