FAQs

It highlights the Purāṇic principle that intentional disruption of another’s sacred dignity (śṛṅgāra/tejas) brings immediate karmic consequence, here expressed as descent to Bhūrloka.

Indirectly, it warns that devotion must be accompanied by humility and non-offense; bhakti in Purāṇic ethics is protected by restraint in speech and action toward the divine and the dignified.

Vyākaraṇa-based nuance: compounds like śṛṅgāra-bhaṅga (“ruin of adornment/romantic grace”) show how meaning is carried through samāsa; it also reflects Dharma-śāstra style causality (act → result) used throughout Purāṇic instruction.
