Sage Narada (teaching in Uttara-Bhaga’s dharma narrative)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It equates grave familial violence—killing one’s own son—with the most severe category of sin (brahmahatyā), underscoring ahimsa as a foundational dharma regardless of worldly “benefit” or outcome.
Bhakti is inseparable from dharma: devotion to Vishnu is supported by compassion and non-violence. This verse warns that cruelty and harm destroy spiritual merit, making the heart unfit for sustained devotion.
It reflects Dharmaśāstra-style ethical classification of sins and consequences (karma-phala), a practical framework used alongside ritual discipline; no specific technical Vedanga (like Vyakarana or Jyotisha) is directly taught in this line.
