Adhyaya 87 — The Slaying of Dhumralochana and the Emergence of Kali; the Fall of Chanda and Munda (Chamunda Named)
chinne śirasi daityendraś cakre nādaṃ subhairavam | tena nādena mahatā trāsitaṃ bhuvanatrayam ||
The collapse of adharma can be tumultuous; even in defeat, destructive forces create disturbance. The verse acknowledges that purification may be dramatic, yet it leads toward restored order.
Carita with cosmic framing (three worlds), not a manvantara or genealogy passage.
The ‘roar’ is the last reverberation of ego’s resistance. The trembling of the three worlds can be read as the shaking of waking/dream/deep-sleep identifications when the central delusion is cut.
