मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।

शतार्धकोटिविस्तारा पृथिवी कृत्स्रशो द्विज ।

तस्या हि स्थानमखिलं कथयामि शृणुष्व तत् ॥

Transliteration

mārkaṇḍeya uvāca |

śatārdha-koṭi-vistārā pṛthivī kṛtsraśo dvija |

tasyā hi sthānam akhilaṃ kathayāmi śṛṇuṣva tat ||

Translation

ମାର୍କଣ୍ଡେୟ କହିଲେ—ହେ ଦ୍ୱିଜ! ପୃଥିବୀର ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବିସ୍ତାର ପ୍ରସ୍ଥରେ ‘ଶତ ପଞ୍ଚାଶତ୍ କୋଟି’ (ଯୋଜନ) ଅଟେ। ଏବେ ମୁଁ ତାହାର ସମଗ୍ର ବିନ୍ୟାସ/ରଚନାକୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବେ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରିବି—ଶୁଣ।
